Vasomotor Symptoms Strongly Linked to Anxiety and Depression
A systematic review of 26 studies found that vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes and night sweats) are consistently and strongly associated with both depressive symptoms and anxiety across all reproductive stages, with higher rates observed in women with more frequent or severe symptoms. These findings underscore the need for integrated mental health support alongside physical symptom management in early perimenopause.
