Probiotic Plus Laser Therapy Improves Vaginal Atrophy Symptoms
This randomized controlled trial found that combining oral Lactobacillus crispatus M247 probiotic with vaginal CO₂ laser therapy produced greater reductions in vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, burning, and itching compared with laser therapy alone in postmenopausal women with vulvovaginal atrophy. The probiotic group also showed a shift toward a more favorable vaginal microbiota profile, suggesting that gut-vaginal microbiome support may enhance the benefits of laser treatment for active menopause symptoms.
