Polyphenol Mix Improved Oxidized LDL but Raised Lipids
In a randomized crossover trial, 90 mildly hypercholesterolemic postmenopausal women took a multi-polyphenol mix that lowered oxidized LDL after eight weeks but raised total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Responses differed by metabolic phenotype, underscoring that these biomarker findings do not establish a general cardiovascular benefit.
