Meta-Analysis
One in Three Perimenopausal Women Face Depression or Insomnia
This systematic review and meta-analysis of 102 studies (N=1,141,955) found that nearly one in three women experiences depressive, anxiety, or insomnia symptoms during the menopausal transition, with insomnia affecting 27% of perimenopausal women. Subgroup analyses revealed higher rates during early menopause, underscoring the need for routine mental health screening and integrated multidisciplinary care.
