Cross-Sectional
Hot Flashes Become More Common in Late Perimenopause
Among 8,096 Australian participants, moderately-to-severely bothersome hot flashes increased from 8.8% in premenopause to 37.3% in late perimenopause, while vaginal dryness also became more discriminative across the transition. This cross-sectional result describes prevalence at one point in time, so it does not establish a single cause for an individual's symptoms.
