Meta-Analysis
Hormone Therapy Neither Prevents Nor Causes Dementia, Large Review Finds.
A systematic review and meta-analysis of over 1 million participants found no significant association between menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) and risk of mild cognitive impairment or dementia. This applies regardless of MHT type, duration, or timing. MHT should not be prescribed or avoided specifically for dementia prevention; decisions should be based on symptom management and individual risk.
