Meta-Analysis
Hormone Therapy Modestly Reduces Depression in Perimenopause
This systematic review and meta-analysis of 12 randomized controlled trials found that menopausal hormone therapy (HRT) was associated with a small but statistically significant reduction in depressive symptom severity in perimenopausal women. While the magnitude of effect is modest and evidence certainty is limited, the findings support HRT as a potential option for managing mood-related symptoms during the late perimenopause transition.
