Hormone Therapy Linked to Better Cognitive Performance in Older Women

A cross-sectional analysis of 1,374 postmenopausal women from the NHANES database found that hormone therapy was significantly associated with better performance across multiple cognitive domains, including word recall, processing speed, and verbal fluency. The cognitive benefit was most pronounced between ages 65 and 70, suggesting a critical window during which hormone therapy may help attenuate age-related cognitive decline in late postmenopause.
