Hormone Therapy Does Not Increase or Decrease Dementia Risk

This systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 studies (N=1,016,055) published in The Lancet Healthy Longevity found no significant association between menopause hormone therapy and the risk of mild cognitive impairment or dementia in postmenopausal women. The findings reinforce current clinical guidance that MHT should be prescribed based on symptom management and other risk-benefit considerations, not for dementia prevention.
