High Salt Intake Linked to Bone Loss in Postmenopausal Women
This systematic review and meta-analysis found that high dietary sodium significantly increases urinary calcium excretion in postmenopausal women, suggesting a detrimental impact on bone health and an accelerated loss of bone mass. Limiting salt intake is recommended to help prevent osteoporosis.
