Group CBT Cuts Hot Flashes and Anxiety in Perimenopausal Women
A randomized controlled trial of 50 perimenopausal and postmenopausal Korean women found that an eight-session group cognitive behavioral therapy program significantly reduced vasomotor symptom frequency, distress, and daily interference, while also improving quality of life and anxiety with effects sustained at four-week follow-up. These findings support group-based CBT as an effective non-hormonal intervention for the hot flashes and anxiety characteristic of late perimenopause.
