Early Perimenopause Symptoms Can Appear Before Hot Flashes

In this cross-sectional analysis of Australian women without vasomotor symptoms, early perimenopause was defined by a menstrual-cycle variation of at least 7 days, and its symptom profile differed little from the late reproductive stage with changed flow. The findings indicate that changed flow alone is not a clear marker of transition onset and cannot establish that a particular symptom was caused by menopause.
