Citrulline Supplementation May Lower Blood Pressure in Postmenopause
This systematic review of 12 randomized controlled trials found that citrulline supplementation (directly or via watermelon products) may reduce systolic blood pressure by up to 9 mmHg in hypertensive postmenopausal women. While evidence for arterial stiffness, endothelial function, and metabolic outcomes remains inconsistent, citrulline offers a promising, safe dietary approach for supporting cardiovascular health in early postmenopause.
